Sawtooth Roller Chain

Extended Fatigue Life Under Cyclic and Shock Loads

Proprietary sawtooth plate geometry distributes load across a broader contact area than flat-plate equivalents.

Available in pitches 06B to 48B (ISO metric) and ANSI 35 to 240, supplied as simplex, duplex, and triple-strand assemblies. The sawtooth side-plate profile reduces stress concentration at the inner-plate aperture and extends fatigue life — particularly valuable in agricultural harvesting drives, log conveyor systems, and mining equipment where oscillating and shock loads are constant.

Stocked across the full pitch range to the same material and heat-treatment specification as the parent chain.

Connecting links allow field assembly and chain length adjustment without replacing the full strand. Offset links and double-offset links are available for odd-number link configurations, maintaining rated load capacity and chain geometry in tight-centre drive installations. All types are batch-coded and traceable.

From Raw Coil to Tested, Packaged Chain

Stage 01

Steel Procurement and Incoming Inspection

Coil steel sourced to defined carbon and alloy specifications. Chemical analysis and hardness sampling performed on every incoming batch before entering production.

Stage 02

High-Speed Blanking and Piercing

Automated presses cut plate profiles and punch pin holes to tight positional tolerances. Vision-based sampling verifies every Nth part for dimensional conformance.

Stage 03

Carburising and Heat Treatment

Plates and rollers pass through a mesh-belt continuous furnace under controlled atmosphere. Oil quenching and tempering achieve specified case depth and core hardness.

Stage 04

Automatic Assembly

High-speed machines press pins, insert rollers, and close side plates at controlled interference fits. Press force is monitored in real time; out-of-tolerance parts are rejected automatically.

Stage 05

Pre-Loading and Bedding

Assembled chains run through a pull-preloading station that seats the pin-bush interfaces under controlled tension, reducing in-service elongation during initial running-in.

Stage 06

100% Pull-Force and Length Testing

Every finished chain section is proof-loaded and length-checked. Chains outside tolerance are quarantined. Test data is recorded against the batch number and retained.
